In reply to: [Event Organiser] Events page and the current-menu-item CSS classHi Stephen,
Perhaps remove that warning or add more information to it?
Thanks for the explanation on menu links.
For what it’s worth, I’ve written a “Sermons” plugin that creates sermons as custom post types and displays the main list of sermons on a page that uses a template file called page-sermons.php, and another file called archive-sermons.php that handles all the taxonomy archives.
I’m using that sermon plugin on four active church websites and some development sites, and on all those sites I added the “Sermons” page as normal in Appearance > Menus and WordPress correctly adds the current-menu-item CSS selector to that menu item when that page is active.
If I get some time I might look into this a little deeper.
John
Hey Eric,
Don’t know if you found the solution to your “current-menu-item in a drop-down menu” question yet, but I think the CSS selector you were looking for is:
#nav .menu li ul li.current-menu-item aI was wrestling with a similar problem this evening and stumbled across your post.
John
madebymartin,
I’m using Custom Metaboxes and Fields as well, and at first I was adding an underscore to the field IDs to hide them from the post editor custom fields, but that hides the metaboxes from Gravity Forms too. Remove the underscore and you should see them in Gravity Forms.
For the record I’m using it on a site that’s running WooThemes Whitelight, and it’s working fine.
If you created custom metaboxes and the ID for those metaboxes begins with an underscore (to hide them from the custom fields in the post editor), then they won’t show up in Gravity Forms either.
I ran into this with a couple plugins I built and then later tried to link Gravity Forms + Custom Post Types to those post types. After removing the underscores in the plugins, page templates, and database everything worked as expected.
Thanks for making a very helpful plugin, by the way!

In reply to: [Taxonomy Picker] [Plugin: Taxonomy Picker] Positioning 'Search' buttonthondus,
You could try adding this to your CSS:
.taxonomy-picker input {float:left;}Depending on what’s below it, you may need to add a margin:bottom or margin:right after floating it to the left.
Stephen, by the way, thanks for taking the time to produce and maintain Event Organiser. I’ve tried a couple others, and even though this one isn’t exactly plug and play, the end result is worth the time involved in integrating it into my sites.
And finally, in the end it seems that the permalink settings that I had for Event Organiser were not compatible with the addition of $events_slug, and all I really needed to do was make a simple edit to the permalinks. Here’s what I finally went with:
Event (single): events
Event (archive): eventsEverything is back to normal. π
Now, on to the next issue that isn’t really an issue…
This seems to work with includes/event-organiser-cpt.php restored back to using the variable instead of ‘true’:
Event (single): event
Event (archive): eventsI need to head out for a while, but I’ll do some more testing when I get back…
