In reply to: [Email Before Download] There was an error trying to send your message.I installed the new plugin: gmail smtp. I got it to send me the test email, so that plugin is working.
I am still getting the same message as we started.
I thought this would be much simpler than it has turned out to be. Not sure what to do now. Who would have thought downloading one file in exchange for an email address would be so difficult to achieve…
I’m open to any thoughts you may have about my dilemma.

In reply to: [Email Before Download] There was an error trying to send your message.Thank you for responding and clarifying what is needed. I have downloaded and installed the WP-Mail-SMTP plugin. It is activated, and I went through all the steps to make the settings work. I have successfully installed that plugin and had a successful test email. All is good and working with WP-Mail-SMTP plugin.
HOWEVER: I am still getting the same message with the Email Before Download plugin:
There was an error trying to send your message. Please try again later.Any suggestions?
The download file is there and correct.
Mail plugin is installed correctly and functioning.

In reply to: [Email Before Download] There was an error trying to send your message.Right now, I am not using a plugin for emails. I was thinking that your plugin was able to receive an email address and then provide the file for download via a link to the file once Submit is pressed. If this is an incorrect assumption of functionality, I am sorry for my mistake.
Does your plugin require another plugin for emails? if so, can you suggest a free plugin that would integrate well with yours?
