Forum: Installing WordPress
In reply to: Site not displaying after migration and name changeI reinstalled WP with a new database. I did not ftp any files from the old website nor did I upload a .sql to the database. I logged into WP admin after installing it and everything looks fine. However, whenever I want to install a plugin from the plugin repository or upload a plugin from my desktop, I get the following screen and I have to enter my ftp details each time.
See http://tinypic.com/r/2hxugpd/6
Anyway, I manually uploaded a 2012 child theme from my desktop and neither the child theme or the parent theme is display on the site. I’ve never had to give ftp details to upload or install plugins from WP admin.
Could someone help me fix this problem? I’m at my wits end here.

In reply to: Site not displaying after migration and name changeI did a search and replace for the domain name without the .com and wit the .com and in each instance, the tool works. See this:
In the process of replacing “sellsmore” with “findfree” we scanned 29 tables with a total of 727 rows, 4 cells were changed and 4 db update performed and it all took 0.096423 seconds.
I also read the comment thread (1st page) at http://interconnectit.com/products/search-and-replace-for-wordpress-databases/
cause someone still had problems after using the tool. The site display was resolved when the went to permalinks settings and clicked SAVE button. I did the same but my site still isn’t displaying.Forum: Installing WordPress
In reply to: Site not displaying after migration and name changeCan I still perform the reach&replace after messing up the database? I want to avoid having to reinstall.

In reply to: align columns on home pageThis is not a css code issue and no one responded to my request for help at csscreator.com.
Looking at the left navigation it appears to be a line height issues on the front page which is using a different template/structure than on other pages.
Could someone help me fix this? The code in question is http://pastebin.com/LAieyDMw
I started having an issue with WP Pages after I added a .htaccess file. I’ll fix this issue.
The 500 error is fixed. I had created a “subscribe” page in WP admin pages but when I attempt to subscribe an email using the form, I’m getting a message telling me that the “subscribe” page doesn’t exist on the server.
The subscribe2 install instructions stated to leave a line above and below the shortcode on the “subscribe” page and I did this but when I saved the page, WP removed the blank line above the shortcode.

In reply to: 403 error on HOME link after moving WP to root folderI fixed it after changing the doc declaration to:
<!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC “-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Transitional//EN”
“http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-transitional.dtd”>Yesterday I’d added an older doc declaration which caused the backwards content issue.

In reply to: 403 error on HOME link after moving WP to root folderHi Abhishek,
The webhost was “able to find the culprit in the database” and fixed it. Now I’m experiencing something quite baffling on the site.
All of the content in the top nav menu, left sidebar and main content is backwards. For example, if you visit this web page, you’ll notice the following:
a. The top navigation links are backwards — the Home link ought to be listed 1st, About 2nd, …
b. The left sidebar icons and links are backwards — the icons ought to be on the left and the icons on the right
c. The main content on all pages are backwards — the listed items show the items 1st and the numbers last.Have you ever seen anything like this? Can you help me fix it?

In reply to: Question: WP built-in feed urlThis forward slash was caused by the WordPress files migration to the root folder. See http://wordpress.org/support/topic/403-error-on-home-link-after-moving-wp-to-root-folder?replies=2
It’s fixed now.

In reply to: [BackWPup – WordPress Backup & Restore Plugin] back up doesn't workThis plugin has never worked for me. Jobs are created but no logs exist and there are no backups. The following backwpup folders are on the server but they are empty:
/mysite.com/wp-content/backwpup
/mysite.com/wp-content/backwpup-d06c6-logsI’ve had this plugin since last summer but I’m currently using the WP db backup plugin.
Can you take a look at my WP admin? The default backup location is Your WordPress dir is: /home/woodbrothers/mysite.com/ but I’d prefer backup file to go here by default –> /mysite.com/wp-content/backwpup
