Research suggests that I have to completely remake my wordpress theme to do this?

Ah thanks, as I posted this I noted the date, a further web hunt has found this guide, looks much more advanced but I am up for the challenge!

Would you be able to comment on whther or not this guide is more apropriate?

I have already tried this and it still doesnt work, unless it needs to go in a particular place within my CSS file? I just dunked it like this:

	border:none;
	margin:0;
	padding:0;
}

.aligncenter, div.aligncenter {
	display: block;
	margin-left: auto;
	margin-right: auto;
}
.alignleft {
	float: left;
}
.alignright {
	float: right;
}
