Forum: Plugins
In reply to: [WPMU Ldap Authentication] Blank page after loginHave you verified that the ldap settings you have entered are correct?
Just because I haven’t updated the plugin in 3 months, doesn’t mean its dead ….
I still actively us it on my sites. What issues are you seeing?
I have tried everything I can think of so far to attempt to reproduce and debug this issue. Without being able to reproduce the issue on my side, its been very hard to try to track down.
Terri: Have you had any luck tracking down why your cron isn’t firing?
This should be fixed in the development version in the trunk. You can grab that at: http://downloads.wordpress.org/plugin/post-expirator.zip
Would it be helpful if I added in some hooks into the plugin? That way you would not need to modify the plugin code.
Are you able to record a screen cast walking through the steps you are taking and showing the issue?
See: http://wordpress.org/support/topic/no-posts-have-expired-since-29-of-2014-any-ideas?replies=14
Still struggling trying to figure it out. It appears though that no wp-cron events are firing, at least in that examples. If others can also submit their debug info maybe it will show a pattern? Also, who are you hosting with?
Terri: It looks like cron events are not working on your blog. Who is your web host? Did you change anything major with the core of your WP install when this stopped working? It’s not only postExpirator that is not working, but it looks like other plugins/functions are not working correctly.
I just checked this into the trunk, but I don’t have 5.4 handy in a test environment. Can someone give it a try to confirm?
What do you see on the diagnostics page? Does WP-Cron say that it is enabled? Do you see any scheduled events for post expirator?
My hunch is that something changed with your install/host that may have disabled WP-Cron, which is required for the plugin to work.
Great! Glad you are set!
Are you seeing this issue when posting via the default wordpress admin interface, or only with front end plugins?
Can you test posting something using the wp-admin backend and let me know if that works?
The Default Expiration Category is really a legacy option there on the main screen. It really needs to eventually be broke out to the defaults screen so it can be configured for each post type. Currently, you would also need to change the “How to Expire” option on the defaults screen to one of the category options, then it should pull from the default list.
This is one of the things on my list to work on, but there just wasn’t time to implement this the last go around :/
Would the suggested change solve your issue?
This is one of the things that was on my list for ages – finally got this setup:

Any donations are appreciated, but are by no means expected. I love developing plugins and working with the open source community!
