I cannot reproduce this error in the similiar setup. Can you do a screen cast recording of the issue with something like Jing.com?
This is currently not a supported feature. Feel free to add it to http://postexpirator.uservoice.com
I didn’t know that the meta box was displaying there, so its likely not setup to work correctly. Is there an interest in being able to expire media?
I do not use any front end plugins, so I don’t have anything setup to debug/diagnose the issue. Is there anything else you can supply about the problem?
Are you saying the settings page is not saving your option, or that the saved option is not working? Can you give me some info on your configuration?
The plugin uses the core wordpress cron functionality. It sets a specific cron event for each post expiration. Old versions of the plugin used to check at the set interval, but as of version 2.0 – it schedules a specific cron event for each expiration.
Updates do still happen, and it should work fine on the latest versions. I just don’t always have time to make it to the forums.

I have this on my list to set some time aside to investigate. I have not yet had a circumstance where I have been able to reproduce the issue on my own, which makes it challenging to correct.

I’ll see if I can get this fixed – thanks for pointing it out!
After debugging is enabled, the post expirator plugin will log any attempts to schedule and expire posts. So if you can make a few new posts, and set them to expire then we can see if there is anything in the logs that might help diagnose the problem.
This is an option in the plugin settings. If you click on “Post Expirator” under the settings menu, you should see it.
