It doesn’t work, even with what you’re suggesting.

The Sidebar AB displays for both articles.

    Hey again,

    There are only TWO sidebars.

    1. One is Sidebar A (linked to category A)

    2. The other one is sidebar AB (just named it like this for the example), which is linked to category A and category B.

So what should I do then in this configuration ?

So as suggested by you, I now have:

A/B sidebar setting is “forced replace” / “Main sidebar”

B sidebar setting is “forced replace” / “Main sidebar”

Result: it brings sidebar AB for both articles:

    – The article with AB category
    – The article with A category.

    Any clue ?

    Thank you.

    Hello again,

I must do something wrong cause it still does NOT work.

    – So, I have the sidebar AB, assigned to the articles that will have A and B as categories (two categories): this sidebar has 9 widgets.

    – I have sidebar B, assigned to category B: this one has 5 widgets.

When I have an article with A/B category, it works, it displays the 9 widgets.

When I have an article ONLY with B category, it also displays the 9 widgets, where it should display the 5.

    Settings

A/B sidebar setting is “forced replace” / “Main sidebar”

B sidebar setting is “replace” / “Main sidebar”

I hope you can success where I failed. Thank you.

    Hey Joachim,

    Thank you for your answer.

    1. This is solved now, it was due to a conflict between previously-done sidebars and newly-done with your plugin, it’s all good now thank you.

    2. My problem is the following, I’ll try to be clear with an example:

    – I have created a sidebar A which includes the category A, so it means that whenever an article is categorized with category A, sidebar A will display. I have created another sidebar B with category B as an option. My problem is that I have articles that are categorized with categories A AND B at the same time, for editorial reasons. So whenever this happens, the sidebars merge and I have two sidebars (from top to bottom), with repeated widgets that display.
So… what I did is the following: I created a sidebar AB (that takes into account an article that is categorized with category A and category B together), and it works. My problem is now, when I have an article with ONLY category A, it displays the sidebar AB and not the sidebar with category A only.

So it works for the condition when I have two categories but when only one of those categories is ticked, the sidebar AB is still displayed.

Hope you can help me with this.

    Best regards,
