Does the msls_options_get_available_languages hook only work for languages that are in place and/or available for WordPress?

See how “Switzerland (Francais)” is available here:

I can work around this by selecting another language (in this case, “fr_BE”) and overriding the output with msls_head_hreflang so that it appears to be “fr_CH” but I wondered if there was a better way or I am missing something.
