Please see how to edit the gallery via editor here.
If you are using a short code, you will need to make the changes, generate a new short code and publish it again as shown here.
Generate a new shortcode for every change.Let us know if any questions arise.

There is no way to create a gallery with images added to the post.Our plugin does not have that functionality.

The login prompt is not related to the gallery. It is most probably related to your settings.Would you please try to deactivate other plugins and see if the issue persists with only gallery plugin activated?

This way you will not need to navigate between images.

There is no storage allocated within the gallery plugin.
The images are added either to the media library or via the gallery. If added to the gallery directly, the uploaded images can be found in the wp upload directory.
