In reply to: [Donations via PayPal] Phantom <br>Hi,
Yes, the plugin does not add any
<br>tags, so if you see that in your output, they must come from somewhere else.Cheers,
Johan@jamescollins That is super! Thank you very much. I’ll include your patch later today (I have a crazy working day ahead of me, but tonight – my time, I’ll review it).
Your contributions are much appreciated. And I am aiming of releasing a Post Snippets update before the end of the week, containing your contributions.
I did refactor the code for my other wp.org published plugin the last days, which made that plugin much more maintainable. I’ll probably do the same for Post Snippets – it’d would do it good, now when it has a few years of code added to it.

In reply to: [Donations via PayPal] Constantly ValidatingI took a look and I see what you mean. That validation window popping up is not part of the plugin.
When I traced where it comes from, it seems to be part of something called AnswerCloud/SiteBrains or similar. Is that something you have installed, or ring a bell?
Apparently that validation script attaches itself to any form button and tries to validate it on submission. They should probably make sure that they only attach themselves to comment form buttons (I suppose that is the purpose) and not every form/submission button available on a page.So try disabling the plugin that adds that validation function, and you will see the PayPal plugin working.
From the PayPal Donations plugin’s point of view, I can’t do anything to override what that validation plugin attaches to the button. It’s out of my control. But that AnswerCloud/Sitebrain script could probably be updated to verify that they only attach themselves to the buttons they are supposed to validate.
Hope this helps.

In reply to: [Donations via PayPal] Constantly ValidatingHi,
Where do you get this icon? After pressing the donation button?
Hi,
If you are using a shortcode, and you need to resave the post for it to update, it sounds like you might be using a caching plugin?
James!
That is awesome, and a very nice addition! I will include your contribution in the next update!
Thanks! π
Cheers,
JohanHey happy to hear that you got it sorted out.

JohanHi,
I’ve not been able to reproduce this problem. Are you still having this problem? If so, can you get me more details on your environment.
Cheers,
JohanHi,
The current PHP support is an either/or setting. In other words, when enabling PHP, it expects the entire snippet to be in PHP. It’s on my list of possible future enhancements though, to add more flexibility for allowing a mix and match approach.
In the meantime, a workaround would be to wrap the html parts of your html/php snippet in echo ”; statements.

JohanHi,
The method I used to implement the PayPal connection in the donations plugin, doesn’t pass any information back to the return page.
I’m using PayPal’s default method, which is quite simple (a form basically).PayPal also offers a more advanced API, where you get much more control of the interaction with PayPal, and by that also can get information back after a donation. I’ve considered updating the plugin to use PayPal’s API with more features, but that will take quite some development time to implement, and I’m not sure when I’ll find that time as I have a few other things cooking as well. So no promises, at this point anyway.

In reply to: [Donations via PayPal] [Plugin: PayPal Donations] Amount not receivedA plugin doesn’t have access to PayPal’s actual payment operation (naturally, as that would be insecure). So if you have a problem with payments not coming through, you need to contact PayPal’s support to help you.
Thanks for the info and link. Excellent! I’ll then definitely look into supporting WPML.
Cheers,
JohanThe source you posted contains:
<!-- PayPal Contribution Form for Dennis Hoppe -->
Which is definitely not created by the PayPal Donations plugin, so you are using some other donation plugin that is the problem and should ask in the forum for that plugin.Cheers,
JohanThere is no way to do what you are asking right now. But I think that it is a good suggestion, so I’ll look into adding it for a coming update.
(This is also in reply to your question in this thread.)

Johan@jchandlermsw:
Not offended at all, sorry if it sounded like that. I just wanted to be clear as you mentioned customer support, so there is no misunderstanding. πAnyway, as I mentioned, I’m going to see if I can include it with the next update. I took an initial look at the WPML site earlier today, and I noticed that it is a commercial plugin? So it might be hard for me to be able to try my plugin against it as I then won’t have access to it, unless there is a free version available as well?
Cheers,
Johan
