Great thread! Is this something that could be added to the members plug-in? Could it be done within each buddypress group – i.e. can we create group-specific admins in a similar manner to site admins vs network admins in WPMU?
Nice work marisqua and Shashank! Any way to extend this logic to buddypress group admins? In other words, have a local admin for each BP group that can create lower-privileged users within that group but not grant membership to other groups?
Any way of achieving the same thing as you’re describing above with the Members plug-in?

In reply to: [CollabPress] [Plugin: CollabPress] wp_editor added to Collabpress, need helpHi Jon – this sounds like a neat idea (having the WP editor for CollabPress). Did you ever figure out a solution? (I can’t open the link in your previous post – it goes to the CollabPress.org forum, which I think has been replaced by this one…)
It would be nice to see this in future releases of CollabPress. π

In reply to: [CollabPress] How to not show Collabpress comments in latest comments widget?+1 for this suggestion. Am using CBOX (BuddyPress ++) with a public or communal-but-logged-in section for forums and am using private groups for project based work that is specific (and private) to each group. Comments made on tasks within private groups are appearing in the recent comments widget on the home page, which could be embarrassing for someone who thought their group was private!
Can the CollabPress activity show up based on the privacy settings of each group (or not show up at all outside each group)? That said, I’m not entirely sure how much of this functionality belongs to CollabPress versus the recent comments widget… Any thoughts welcome!

In reply to: [CollabPress] [Plugin: CollabPress] Project DocumentsThirded! I’d really love to see a BaseCamp-like experience operating at a group level, where (depending on roles, perhaps working with a membership plugin) users can create, modify, update, complete, delete tasks. Having template projects available to specific groups or all groups (configurable) would be icing on the cake.
Really appreciate what you guys have built, btw.

In reply to: [CollabPress] Is CollabPress still in active development? Thanks Brad, that’s great news – I’m looking forward to trying it out this weekend!
Any plans to add new features in the near future?
(P.S. When’s the new book coming out? Must be any day now… :D)

In reply to: [CollabPress] [Plugin: CollabPress] Project DocumentsExcellent – thanks Scott – great support.
Any idea if / when we will see template projects appearing in CollabPress? If I could attach a template document to a template task… that would be awesome!

In reply to: [CollabPress] [Plugin: CollabPress] Project DocumentsNice idea bluebird2 – this would be useful for a site I am working on too. With BuddyPress Docs now available, how do you see attachments (e.g. MS Word docs) and online document collaboration working together? How could / should CollabPress work with both?

In reply to: [CollabPress] Is CollabPress still in active development?Another vote for more CollabPress development, please! BuddyPress (and now CBOX, which totally rocks) is crying out for a BaseCamp collaboration / task management system. It is such a perfect fit.
My wish list would include: template projects, user-created tasks (i.e. by group members or group admins rather than site admins) and maybe some features (short-codes?) to aid navigation, project page creation and the BaseCamp style views for ‘My Tasks’, documents, project-specific activity updates (covering task progress, discussions, document updates and additions); the ability to link tasks to attachments, shared documents and custom post types (and vice-versa). The ability to nest lists of tasks would add an optional level of complexity for larger projects too.
Errm… That’s quite a big wish list. I’d happily pay for this as a premium plug-in. π
