  • Hello,

Thanks for the report, we experienced the same problem on a much larger scale! We tracked down the error to the same translation file and we have fixed that translation. It looks like someone made a typo and used %%% for a literal % instead of %%. To restore a site to working order you can simply delete the bad mailpoet-pl_PL.mo, and mailpoet-pl_PL.po files.

    Cheers!

Adding more photos should create a new gallery… when you upload to iPhoto all the images/videos that you upload in that one action are grouped together… inside iPhoto/iCloud… the plugin translates that grouping into a gallery… so new upload is a new group is a new gallery.

    Cheers!

    Hello,

I’m going to be working on rewriting parts of the codebase due to a string or recent problems people have been having with the plugin after a lot of UI work (including pretty imports.) I’m hesitant about just reverting the code because I suspect people like the new additions, but the functionality has become unreliable which is, of course, problematic.

hmm. it sounds like the images are not being attached to the post. the id’s parameter *should* only be necessary for custom galleries. but [gallery] should work for all images attached to the post.

I’m working on rewriting a large part of the code due to a rash of recent problems. It’s gotten a little bit complex with recent additions, and somewhere something has been going wrong…

    Hello,

A “group” is a collection of one or more images posted at the same time. On your iOS device you can select a bunch of images and share them to the photostream all at once. This is a group, and the iCloud (the photostream) organizes these into a group all with one caption and description. The plugin uses the first image in the group to pull data from since the caption, description, date, etc, are all the same. Even if you just share one photo it’s a group of one photo (so it can treat single and groups the same, code wise).

Also, the image date is already available, see: this screenshot, you’ll notice “image->date(format)” in the list, and format takes you here where you can learn how to format the date however you want.

Question: When you first started using the plugin did you create a new stream for it and share a bunch of stuff all at once? This seems probably (and quite reasonable.) I went back and forth on whether the batch date should be used or the image date… there are up and down sides to both… I’m wondering if the downside here outweighs the upside.

i think there went something wrong with a different plugin 🙂

So Photostream-Sync is working properly for you, but another plugin is behaving strangely?

The formats for titles and whatnot are confirguable, but yea that sounds like a default title for all your posts

when you post a photo or a group of photos to the photostream you can give it a title and comments.. those are available to you for the title.

In wp-admin go to media > photostreams then “edit” your photostream and look for the “Gallery Titles” option. that “Show Options” link will show you which things are available for you to use in there. This will only take effect for new imports.

The plugin doesn’t use custom tables. It integrates with WordPress. So you’d just want to delete the media and posts to “reset” it

hmm… thanks for the report. I’d like to see if this is the result of some recent UI work contributed to the plugin. Would you mind downgrading to version 2.0.4 and seeing if things clear up? You may have to delete the “bad” imported posts and photos…

As for your request. When you say “add all new pics from my photo stream to a site” what exactly do you mean?

    Plugin Author apokalyptik

    (@apokalyptik)

Interesting. I’m assuming that that was an appropriate title and caption for at least one batch in the stream?

    J,

When you publish photos to your photostream you can publish multiple photos at a time (by selecting a bunch, and then sending them to your stream) When you do this you can give the photo, or photos as a group a title, and a description.

The plugin considers this a gallery. Whether you share a single photo, or you share a hundred photos to your stream that single act of sharing is one gallery, and everything shared in that one action will be included in that one gallery.

    Hope this explanation helps.

    Cheers!

    Hello,

I’m glad you like the plugin. Under advanced options you can actually change the gallery shortcode used.

Interesting. Can you share the photostream link with me (or create a new photostream with some dummy images that exhibits the same problem?)

I’ll work on getting the spelling error fixed. It’s actually an error that’s used in 4 separate places, and could be a number of things. I want to make sure, first, that there’s not something in the URL or other data about the photostream that’s causing the plugin to not be able to find everything before moving on to seeing whether there’s something more complicated going on (e.g. your PHP setup has networking disabled, etc)

    Hmm,

It sounds like, perhaps, your server is having intermittent troubles communicating with apple (high latency, packet loss, or low bandwidth). Obviously I have no way of directly verifying this, with access to neither the server or the stream. What suggests this to me is that it does work on and off…

Another possibility would be a low PHP and or network timeout configured on the server… Either of which would cuse work to be cut arbitrarily short under the right conditions…

    stereonom,

Would you mind giving the latest version of the plugin a go: 2.1.2; and let me know how it fares for you?

    Thanks!

Interesting. Was the stream empty, by chance?
