I’m experiencing kind of the same problem.
On our home screen we promo our sponsors image only horizontally thumbnails, after the up-date all sponsors are presented vertically full-sized.. even though the settings are un-changed.
Due to our traffic on the site we decided to deactivate the sponsor-plugin for the time being.. a fix would be really great it is after all a great plugin!!
