  • Forum: Fixing WordPress
    In reply to: Problem

After I downloaded the 5.3, I had a warning appear on my website, then overall i couldn’t even access my dashboard to fix it. However I was able to fix it shortly.
The reason why it happen is because the update wasn’t compatible with my plug in.

Follow the steps, and maybe it can help you restore your site.
This is what I did: Via Hostgator

    1) login to your cpanel > phpMyAdmin (under Databases)
    2) on the left hand side, under phpMyadmin > click the (+) to drop down your website content.
    3) Find the following and click on “wp_options”
    4) Next find the option name “active_plugins”
    5) Click on the “edit” and highlight all the codes and delete it. You can copy it and save it on your pc somewhere if you feel unsure. What it does is it uninstall all your plug-ins. You can later install this again later.
    6) Once you delete the codes, Click “Go” and your website is reset.

From there just log back into your wordpress, the only difference is you just need to reinstall all the plug-in again. I found my issue with the ocean theme, so i didn’t install that plug-in. I also recommended activating your plug-ins one by one, and refreshing your website to see where the error is occurring.

    Hopefully this helps,
    Anthony N
