Cleared the cahce, and that did the trick. Thank you!
I can vouch for this: all my sites with Jetpack 9.21. are showing daily stats tooltips when hovering over weekly and monthly columns.
On two different versions of WP, on three different hosts.
Have screenshot, but can’t seem to attach it to this post.
