No did not do this properly, can I just check how you access the directories, as I am doing it in Filezilla but can’t seem to copy the file over?
I think I have done this now, downloaded coda, changed the code and uploaded to the folder above wordpress. I logged back into my site, it still has http://www.example.com/wordpress and when I take off wordpress it just has the splash page of my host provider. As I am building it I don’t mind for now, just wonder what I need to do to make it live?
I have found the index.php file while in filezilla on ftp but I can’t seem to find a copy command plus I’m not sure how to find the root directory of my site – as all I can see is wordpress in the remote part of the ftp. sorry I am new to all of this, I wonder if there is a visual ie screenshot steps that I could follow.
Yes my site’s address as I am working on it (unfinished) is http://www.example.com/wordpress but the url I want is http://www.example.com. I am not sure how to create the new location for the core WordPress files to be stored – as per the instructions below, can you help?
Create the new location for the core WordPress files to be stored (we will use /wordpress in our examples). (On linux, use mkdir wordpress from your www directory. You’ll probably want to use “chown apache:apache” on the wordpress directory you created.)
