  • To designsimply: I do not know you, but I LOVE YOU! What a godsend you have been. Thank you for that informative e-mail. I have been most busy working on this since your last post.

OK, I had previously looked through all the html coding, looking for any reference that had a control panel inscription to it based on reading through some of the other suggested comments on this forum. Nonetheless, I thought I should double check to be sure. I therefore looked at ALL my existing theme’s html coding (whether active or not) and found nothing.

I then went to “My Computer” looking throughout the C:// and still didn’t find anything wrong.

I then went back to my hosting acct’s FTP Client and behold it was there stuck in a subfolder under wp-content/themes. Once I managed to delete that file..it was like magic!! The missing stylesheet notice was gone.

I got so excited, that I decided to reactivate my 404 Notifier by Alex King and sure enough, all was well (at least in that department.)

Well, now I am getting an error RE: Images that says this:
404 Report – a file not found error was registered on your site.

    404 URL: http://angeladoss.com/wp-content/themes/globalwarming-awareness2007/images/li.gif

    Referred by: http://angeladoss.com/wp-content/themes/globalwarming-awareness2007/style.css

I am assuming the error is the: images/li.gif part because obviously all my theme’s stylesheets have been resolved.

If you could give me a hint as to what this means I would be so happy. This is the only problem left to resolve on my blog. Could the 404 Notifier plugin be interferring with my onlinehosting4U’s 404 error default file? I spent all last night trying to resolve this one!

I am deeply sorry to be so long and detailed, but I was hoping this would in turn help everyone else as I have noticed this to be a chronic problem with others on the forum.

    Sincerely,
    Angela

Ok, that’s exactly what I saw too. Then it is no longer a problem.

I want to thank you for all your support. I have found the problem!! Perhaps I should be using my FileZilla FTP Client in the future. Was using the FTP Client from my hosting acct which every time, it was coming over with an extra folder that would get stuck in the middle – the “ControlPanel folder.” Once I managed to delete that empty folder, whalla!

    Thank you kindly,

    Angela

Does the theme have a rtl.css file on the sidebar area under theme editor in WP like other themes seem to have? I am starting to wonder if the broken theme (missing stylesheet) is maybe coming from the default or classic theme. Is that a possibility? I am having no problem with this theme I chose, but I just can’t get rid of the error notice…unfortunately, it doesn’t tell you which one is in error.

Just to let you know: I moved everything back over to the default theme and then deleted the 2241 theme completely. This left me with only the default and classic theme that automatically comes with WP. Lo and Behold, the missing stylesheet notice is still there.

With that information, I just re-uploaded the 2241 theme back in and moved everything back over, but still to no avail.

Thank you kindly for your time.

Thank you so much for a response. I still am so confused about this theme since I am still getting the missing stylesheet notice. Could there be a chance that the stylesheet is missing in the default or classic theme instead?? I cannot reactivate my 404 Notifier plugin until I can somehow get rid of this notice.

Thank you kindly for all your help…I have been really struggling with this problem.

    MichaelH,
Can you take a look at my theme please. It appears to me that it doesn’t come with a rtl.css file in the theme editor sidebar that most themes come with after installing.

My question is above. Thank you so very much,
    angdoss

I am still missing a stylesheet from this theme: http://themes.wordpress.net/page/32/

    Theme name: Globalwarmingawareness22007

It uploads just fine. I deleted it however, and re-uploaded it again and it still comes with the same problem of a missing stylesheet notice.

One thing I noticed was that in theme editor, the theme comes with the following in the sidebar:
    Stylesheet
    Popup Comments
    Comments
    Footer
    functions.php
    Header
    Main Index Template
    Sidebar

however, I noticed that it doesn’t have a rtl.css in the sidebar which is usually located above the Stylesheet column.
I have tried to fix this for several months and have spent hours trying to find the solution.

I recently installed the 404 Notifier plugin, but I had to deactivate it because my e-mail was being flooded with the following errors:
    http://angeladoss.com/wp-content/themes/_ControlPanel/globalwarming-awareness2007/style.css

    Please help!

    Hi MichaelH,

I originally had the EXACT same problem as janerobin…still do, but with the only difference: when I RE-uploaded the theme a second time, it now only says I’m missing a stylesheet, and I haven’t been able to solve that problem yet.

The problem I am now running in to is that I just installed Dean’s Permalink Migration Plugin in order to change the permalinks for SEO purposes(great one btw), and additionally, I installed the 404 Notifier (recommended.)All went very well, except my e-mail acct is filling up with a ton of messages with 404 notices that read:

404 Report – a file not found error was registered on your site.
    404 URL: http://angeladoss.com/wp-content/themes/_ControlPanel/globalwarming-awareness2007/images/li.gif
    Referred by: http://angeladoss.com/wp-content/themes/_ControlPanel/globalwarming-awareness2007/style.css

I am sure this notice is due to my missing stylesheet with the current theme I’m using because the permalinks are now SEO friendly and are working great with no problems.

This is the name of my theme:
    Globalwarming Awareness2007 by Pincopallino
    Globalwarming Awareness2007 Theme

This is the link where I got this theme: http://themes.wordpress.net/page/32/

In WP, when I am in the “themes” window, I am getting these remarks:

    Globalwarming Awareness2007 by Pincopallino
All of this theme’s files are located in wp-content/themes/_ControlPanel/globalwarming-awareness2007

    Broken Themes
The following themes are installed but incomplete. Themes must have a stylesheet and a template.

    Name Description:
    Stylesheet is missing.

Thank you for any help you can provide us.
