I have found a workaround. Upload the file onto your host server, then use the plugin “Add To Server” to permit WordPress to see it. All works fine, though I don’t understand the intermittent fault in the basic WordPress software.
I regret to say the error has returned. I haven’t changed anything. What is happening?
For reasons I do not understand, as I didn’t change anything, some audio files started uploading the next time I tried. On 1 or 2 occasions I received the same HTTP error, but in general the problem is resolved.
My wife often tells me to switch the computer off for a while as it is “tired”.
