I’m just making a release now to go out today that only sets up the CDN stuff for admin’s only.
welcome back!
I am experiencing the same issue on a site I have just built. Viewing galleries as tags is no problem
http://www.marsprine.com/wordpress/?page_id=26
but doing it as galleries is an issue
http://www.marsprine.com/wordpress/?page_id=29
the server is running currently php 4.4.3, so I am going to try to get that upgraded with the hosting company to php5 before I really worry.
would be interested if your already running php5

In reply to: [Share and Follow] [Plugin: Share and Follow] Issue with single posts and IEI’ve downloaded the magazeen theme and will take a look when I get chance. it is no doubt something from the theme that is causing the issue. You might want to try CSS single images and not Sprites as that usually resolves things like this.

you need to remove the left margin
li#follow-widget-3 ul li {
margin-left:0
}Cliff
I think you have your wired crossed. It does not state that by putting in a “default message to prefix” that it will replace the keywords, if you notice that only applies to the table above.
Your just expecting it to work differently.
The prefix is defined as a single message that is an additional one that overrides any other text.
The idea being that you could use it quickly for followfridays, or a competition you are running to apply to all tweets.

In reply to: [Share and Follow] [Plugin: Share and Follow] Two issues1) facebook caches images for 24 hours. try it again later
2) no the system only handle only 1 page at this time.

In reply to: [Share and Follow] [Plugin: Share and Follow] Bit.ly Breaks Pageps recommend that you get yourself a new API key from bit.ly after putting it up here

In reply to: [Share and Follow] [Plugin: Share and Follow] Bit.ly Breaks PageI recomend that you first confirm with your hosting agent you are running PHP5
I expect that this is where you problem will lie. Bit.ly relies on Curl, which is supposed to be part of php5, and this part is only available to people that have that setup on their server.
Alternatively it will be that your hosting agent is stopping the CURL call to bit.ly, again speak with them
oh weirdly when I liked it just now, the tally suddenly went to 4
Hey anw2010,
Sorry to say it but this is a thing that facebook works out and does not use any programming by myself, apart from to pass the permalink to facebook of the URL
here is a breakdown of the URL/facebook iframe
link to like script
http://www.facebook.com/plugins/like.php?
your permalink (first item on blog page)http://americanninjawarrior.com/my-run-at-american-ninja-warrior/
href=http%3A%2F%2Famericanninjawarrior.com%2Fmy-run-at-american-ninja-warrior%2F
Layout style box count
&layout=box_count
don’t show faces
&show_faces=false
make iframe 65px wide
&width=65
use the word like not recommend
&action=like
fonts are arial
&font=arial&
color scheme light
colorscheme=light&
height is 65 pxSo I would say that this is a facebook issue and not a programming from my side issue, as it was working the other day and there has been no changes to the plugin for a week or so, and nothing changed about this part for a few weeks at least

andyHey Toptm,
Facebook sometimes makes a funny turn and stops working correctly. This is an issue with facebook. Reciently I have seen that on some accounts that when you share a link from your status box it does not put the text you enter with it, but only the link, title, description and image. But on other accounts it works just fine. So I have no real supprise that it does not work the other way round for you. But Hey, I don’t own facebook or their support strategy.
You have to also understand that when you click the share buttons you use the external sharing, and has a different process than the one that you use when sharing inside facebook.
It might also help if you follow the rules of facebook and only use an image that is already the correct size for sharing.
http://theonlypodcast.com/wp-content/uploads/2010_08_14_394-681×1024.jpg
the image size is detailed on the share and follow admin page. It will also help if you make a different description for every page and not the same one everywhere.
“The Only Podcast That Matters – Go on…. Get offended. “
So to put this in to context. Speak with facebook as this is obviously completely in facebook that you are talking about and *nothing* to do with the share and follow plugin. You also might have noticed that facebook completely changed their profile pages the other day (this weekend) and might just be having some teething troubles.
http://share-and-follow.com/wordpress-plugin/donations/ beer money excepted for answering your question that has nothing to do with me.

Andy “waiting for that beer” KillenHey VolVoxIta
Facebook Caches share images for approx 24hrs from the first share of a page, so even it will cache the gravatar image you first shared with till later…
on the page you list, this is the share image it will use in future
http://www.ilcorvoeillupo.eu/wp-content/uploads/2009/05/luce90.jpgYou can double check it yourself by looking at the HEAD section of your HTML and searching for images_src, it will have a link associated with it.

I think it’s not buddy press or event press that is causing your problem. Although I did not find eventpress to be a working thing out of the box (does not allow me to view a newly created event unless I install *another* plugin), I was able to test the follow stuff and it works 100%.
See here http://www.city-zen-clothing.com/events
I am gonna suggest to you that you do either of the following.
1) try a different approved buddypress theme (I used the default one, which seemed to work better than others I tried which did not display widgets)
2) de-activate all plugins and re-add them one by one till you find the real culprit.regards

In reply to: [Share and Follow] [Plugin: Share and Follow] Little Arrows in Google ChromeMike,
can you detail exactly which plugin you are talking of. The only one I can find has not been supported or updated since version 2.8.6 which is the last time it was stated by the author as working
see http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/bp-events/
