    for completeness, i will add:

i bought my site name from namecheap. i am hosted on dreamhost. on namecheap’s website i had to direct the DNS nameserver to re-connect it to dreamhost. then dreamhost had to help me on chat to update my SSL certificate which is through “let’s encrypt” (free!), and that didn’t take more than 5 minutes. so my site is running, and i’m very thankful for the support i found here.

Thank you, Steven. Indeed, namecheap’s emails to me to renew my ownership of the site went into my junk email, so my ownership lapsed. I just repurchased it.

I imagine I will need to re-link the site to dreamhost and wordpress.org. This take me some time to figure out, given my lack of knowledge, but I figured it out before!

However— One Last Question! I do still own my name (andyhartwig.com) and all it did if entered was re-direct into my “theresilientguy.com” site. not sure if i did that on namecheap, dreamhost, or wordpress.org (but i’ll figure it out). My question is: how can i get into wordpress.org at all? when i try, all i get is “site can’t be reached” and DNS_PROBE_FINISHED_NXDOMAIN.

    I sincerely appreciate the help!

Thank you for following up. I have done each and every one of those steps. My TOPICS page does not have Elementor/edit with Elementor available.

I did not mention it initially b/c it wasn’t a big concern, but this problem also affected a page I had not added anything to yet called “LINKS”. Doing the steps you suggested did result in that page associating with Elementor!

I hope there is a next step?
