@jamposta – if you email andy@leadin.com I’ll get you setup with the beta today. We’d love to have you back aboard Team Leadin π
Sorry about the issues… We know this is a real pain for you (and lots of other users too), so I’ll explain why it’s happening and how we’re fixing it.
So right now Leadin stores all your data in your WordPress database. This works well for less-trafficked sites or sites hosted on robust server environments, but it starts to break down when a site is hosted on a typical shared hosting environment and also receives lots of visitors. By it’s very nature Leadin is a database hog because it has to store every activity your visitors are doing. As you get more data, Leadin starts to slow down and since it’s connected to your WordPress database, it therefore slows down your entire WordPress site.
We’ve actually been working round the clock the last three months to correct this problem and I’m happy to say we solved it. We rewrote the entire backend for Leadin to start storing and serving all your data from the cloud. This mean Leadin won’t slow down you WordPress site at all, and in our early speed test it actually makes the Leadin pages load about 10x faster.
I’d love to get you onto the beta, which we’re launching today in fact, so you can keep using the plugin. There are a few constraints at the moment with the beta that I want to let you know about though first:
1. We only support connecting to MailChimp at the moment.
2. We don’t currently support multisite (we’re working on it)
3. Your existing data won’t be migrated (we’re working on that too and you’ll be able to do it later)We’d hate to lose your as a user so let me know if you’re interested and we can work together to get you setup. Thanks for letting us know about your feedback and I’m relieved we have a way to fix it for you. Let me know what you think about the beta whenever you get a chance and hope you have a great rest of the day.
Hi Art –
We haven’t tackled this one yet, but I marked it down again as something to explore in a coming version. Thanks for the check-in.

Hi Mark –
Sorry about the delay and non-response. I was able to log into your site and thanks for the access. I spent about an hour debugging and I’m still not sure what’s happening here. I’m actually on vacation this week but I promise to look at this first thing when I get back on Monday.
It looks like this issue stems from your localhost environment hostname being mapped to dev.local.
According to this StackOverflow answer if you change your hostname to 127.0.0.1 it should fix itself.
I haven’t tried this myself though so I can’t guarantee that’s the fix though. Let me know if that change works and we’ll go from there.
@markfranklin99 – I pinged you on the other thread but thought I’d post here just in case you missed that message. Do you mind creating support@leadin.com and administrative login for your site and I’ll take a closer look? Thanks!
Is it possible to switch out the “Never Miss And Update” form with a different form plugin that’s supported by Leadin? Right now we can’t make Leadin automatically work with your forms because there’s an onsubmit event attached to the button click which is blocking Leadin from hooking into the default form submission.
Would you be able to create me an administrative login to your WordPress dashboard so I can try to debug why the Online Courses form isn’t actually collecting the contacts?
Hi Mark –
Sorry about the issues. It looks like your Leadin plugin may have not installed itself correctly. Do you mind spinning me up an administrative WordPress dashboard login so I can take a look for you?
Thanks,
– Andy1. You can disable all form notifications by logging into your WordPress dashboard and navigating to Leadin β Settings, then saving with a blank email address for the “Your email” input field.
2. We don’t have an integration with MailPoet right now but it’s a good idea and I’ll bring it to my team for further discussion. Thanks for the feedback.
The email gets stored in the li_leads table. You can also manually export all your contacts and their email addresses by clicking the “Export all Contacts” button on the bottom of the contacts list.
Thanks for the bug report. I’ll get this fixed for the next version of the plugin and circle back to let you know.
Hi Marion –
Thanks for the posting the workaround. It’s usually not suggested that you edit the source code in a plugin in case you every want to do an update, but I think in this case it makes sense.
Hopefully we can figure out a way to map custom fields to our email connectors eventually.
Cheers,

In reply to: [HubSpot All-In-One Marketing - Forms, Popups, Live Chat] So usefulThanks for the nice review. We really appreciate it π
Posting here in case a future reader stumbles across this thread:
We currently don’t have a premium version of Leadin. For transparencies sake, we’re subsidized by our parent company, HubSpot, and we have support from the organization to go for growth over revenue right now. Why does HubSpot want to fund Leadin? It’s pretty cool actually – HubSpot believes so much in inbound marketing that they’re allowing us to build light-weight, easy-to-use tools so we can allow as many people as possible to try out the inbound methodology in a way that works for them, which for many means using a free product.
We do have plans to ultimately charge for the plugin, but we’re not quite sure what the looks like. We’re good, honest people though so this isn’t a nickel-and-dime type of situation. We’ll come up with transparent, fair pricing for what value we’re delivering based off user feedback. Stay tuned!
Thanks for the candid feedback. We’re removing the popup for the review in the next version of the plugin so that should go away for you. We’re also reworking the MailChimp integration setup to make it a lot easier to push your contacts into your email service provider. That should be launched sometime in mid-May and should address most of the usability issues with hooking up those lists.
Lastly, we’re planning on adding in a few features that will help you communicate with the contacts you’re collecting in a more seamless way. We’re hoping that by allowing you to email your contacts and setup customized popup notifications Leadin will become a lot more valuable for you.
Thanks so much again for the feedback. This type of input helps us figure out where the plugin isn’t creating the most of value possible for you and please do keep it coming.

Hmm – everything seems to check out… Would you be able to create andy@leadin.com an administrative username to your WordPress dashboard so I can take a deeper look for you?
