In reply to: [Category Posts in Custom Menu] Add thumbnail option with postsHi Akhilraj,
thanks for your reply. You can use the featured image with the wildcard %post_feat_image and set the width and height of the img tag. Not sure if I can add thumbnail wildcards, I’ll look into it.

In reply to: [Category Posts in Custom Menu] Replace category link with link to first postHi Greg,
thanks for your reply. From your description, I’m afraid I don’t quite understand yet what you wanted to achieve. I’ll follow your instructions this weekend to see what you meant. Either way, I’m glad to hear you found my plugin useful nonetheless, thank you for posting to the support forums.
Kind regards,

In reply to: [Category Posts in Custom Menu] Replace category link with link to first postHi Greg,
still, I don’t think you need to make a modification for this: Just do what I said above, and also set the title of all replaced posts to the name of your category. I.e. just don’t use any of the wildcards in the Post Navigation Label, but set it to the name of your category.
Kind regards,

In reply to: [Category Posts in Custom Menu] Using Plugin with MegaMenu ThemesHi trekken,
I’m sorry but I cannot, for technical reasons and because I have limited time to work on the plugin.
The MegaMenu probably uses the same hooks and filters that my plugin uses, or a related set. My plugin sets a low priority so any other plugin or theme choosing to set a higher priority takes precedence over mine.
Furthermore, WordPress has some hooks and filters my plug-in uses, but some parts, like the PHP code to generate the Appearance > Menus interface, are hardcoded into WordPress. There is no elegant way to add elements to this interface without overriding it completely or creating something entirely new, something which the MegaMenu creators have probably done.
Basically, my plugin indeed only works with themes that use the current WordPress Appearance > Menus interface, and it is intended to be that way.
If you are willing to pay for themes, I recommend that you contact the developers of MegaMenu and request the functionality that my plugin offers to be integrated in theirs.
I hope that within standard WordPress Themes, you still find my plugin useful. Thank you kindly for posting a message.
Kind regards,

In reply to: [Category Posts in Custom Menu] Replace category link with link to first postHi swinggraphics,
As far as I can tell, the functionality you describe is already possible.
1. Create a new, empty category
2. Under Appearance > Menus, add the category to the custom menu
3. Choose “Create submenu containing links to posts in this category.”
4. Set “Number of Posts” to 1.Check: The category is empty, so it is removed from the menu
5. Create a new post, set its category to the one you just created.
Check: The category menu link is replaced with a link to the one post.
6. Create a new post, set its category to the one you just created.
Check: Depending on your ordering choice, only one of the two posts is shown. To show only the _chronologically first_ (to name just one definition of ‘first’), choose to order by Date Descending.
If I’m mistaken, please clarify, perhaps I can extend the ordering options to support your request.

In reply to: [Category Posts in Custom Menu] select only one authorHi ka3d3,
thank you for your request.
As I understand it, you want to show all posts from one author in the menu? Unfortunately, my plugin does not support such functionality and will not in the future. I’d rather keep the plugin small and dedicated to a specific functionality. Due to the limited time I have available to maintain the plugin, I will not be adding such functionality.
Again, thank you kindly for your request. I hope that you find my plugin useful nonetheless.
Kind regards,

In reply to: [Category Posts in Custom Menu] Issue with default wordpress sidebar menuHi Adrian,
sorry for the late reply. I haven’t quite figured out yet why only the sidebar displays this behavior. Essentially, I believe the change I’ve made from 0.8 to 0.9 is correct for the bug reported there. However, it seems I must refactor my code to manually add the CSS classes to the menus. I will look into it shortly.

In reply to: [Category Posts in Custom Menu] Post countHi nmvdvjr,
the Post Navigation Label is for posts (and pages), not for categories. My plugin does not manipulate the category menu item, aside from removing it whenever applicable. Therefore, you cannot currently achieve this with my plugin.
Given the limited time I have available right now, I will not be extending the plugin any further until I’ve found time to resolve a pending issue. Regardless, I hope you will find the plugin useful as-is.
Kind regards,

In reply to: [Category Posts in Custom Menu] Maximum number of menu items?Hi Ben,
thanks for contacting me. I’ve seen this behavior before in a scenario unrelated to this plugin. Could you please consult the following topic http://wordpress.org/support/topic/menu-size-limit
and let me know if this resolves your issue?Kind regards,

In reply to: [Category Posts in Custom Menu] Multisite supportHi pswanson22,
thank you for your message. I have not tested the plugin in a multisite environment, the answer to your question is most likely no.
At the moment, I’m very busy with work and unable to perform many changes to the plugin, my apolagies. Therefore, I will not be offering multisite support at the moment.
Kind regards,
Diana
