    Hi Marina,

There are several possible causes for this. In my case the anti-spam plugin (“Antispam for all fields”) I was using blocked almost everything, so I changed to another plugin. I’m now using “Akismet” (plus “SI CAPTCHA Anti-Spam”) which is working quite well.

Alternatively, you might try checking your plugin’s block list. But I would recommend checking out Akismet. You can see how the two plugins work on my website: VoiceOfBaltimore.org

    Good luck,

    AL

It works! Not clearing the cache apparently was the culprit when I tried before.

Thank you so much for your help, you’ve really been great!

Can I ask another (unrelated) question regarding the print plugin “WP-Print”? (I asked the author of the plugin and he doesn’t know how to fix the problem):

On Voice of Baltimore’s main page (where the opening paragraphs of the five most recent stories appear in reverse chronological order), if you click the Print icon– without first selecting one of the stories– it defaults to the oldest story (at the bottom of the page) instead of the newest story (at the top).

I want it to default to the newest story, the most current one at the top.

The author said it had something to do with a “loop” but did not know how to fix it.

I’m wondering if you do? I would appreciate any suggestion/s you might have.

    Thank you again so much,

    AL

Btw, I removed “em,strong” as you suggested, but the page still won’t display bold-italics.

Thanks, alchymyth, I’m rather new to WordPress and am just now learning to make some basic adjustments. I work with HTML code for my posts, in lieu of the visual editor, in order to learn more about the system. You and others have been very helpful in the Forum and have given me good advice, which I very much appreciate.

Re my problem: I have italics AND bold in my system– but it won’t display both together (i.e., if I use italics, for a specific word or phrase, the page won’t display bold for that entry, and vice-versa).

How will removing em and strong enable bold-italics?

I don’t understand it, it looks similar to the code in the Stylesheet, only more detailed.

My theme is Star Brite version 1.1 (It does have a reset stylesheet.)
    Website is>>> http://voiceofbaltimore.org

So are you saying I would have to create a code for bold-italics?

    Thanks again,

Thanks, alchymyth, I have Firebug Lite but am not sure what to look for. I don’t see anything in the Stylesheet that looks like bold-italics formatting.

P.S. I’ve already gotten a report, over 100 page views.

I have one more question: How do I tell GA to track visitors who look at specific stories on my site (as opposed to just viewing the main page)?

My main page carries a headline and opening paragraphs for 5 stories. Each time I post a new story, the bottom/oldest story gets knocked off the page– but I want to continue tracking pageviews to older pages also.

    Thanks again,

    AL

So I don’t need to do anything more? (I’ve already deactivated the problem plugin.)

At present, all I want is for GA to tell me how many visits each of my site’s stories is getting. (I’ll worry about more details later.)

You’re saying that this should begin showing in about 24 hours, right? When I log into my GA account, it will appear?

Thank you again, your help has been great!

Thanks, Christine, I very much the good advice.

That’s what I did before– i.e, plugged in the code (along with the Tracking ID– but the error message appears for all the entries (hyperlinks) on my Left Sidebar (Appearance > Widgets > Text:Main Menu) except the “Home” hyperlink.

So you’re saying I should just deactivate the plugin and that Google Analytics will work from the code I plugged in?

How long before data will begin showing on visits to my site? All that’s there now are listings with links to my stories– VoiceOfBaltimore.org

    Thanks,

    @ MickeyRoush

Thanks, Mickey, I’ve done it– http://wordpress.org/support/topic/how-to-remove-unwanted-top-border?

Btw, how did you insert my previous comment into your last reply?

    @ MickeyRoush

I made some Widget adjustments to the Left Sidebar and now the main page has a large border/margin at the top — as viewed in the browser (I’m using Firefox).

I don’t see anything in the Header Template or under Styles (reset-fonts-grids-tabs.css) that appears to be creating the border/margin. Shouldn’t there be some way to remove/delete this wasted space?
