I still use a default of en_US.iso885915 for various reasons, but have no particular problem with any other utf-8 app.

I do have this kind of problem, only worse, with *regular* (not email) posting in wordpress 2.7.1. The title as well as the message gets truncated at the first quote or accentuated character. Since I write in French this is rather a bit of a problem…
I tried both visual and HTML tabs.
