It happened to me because of the plugin Really Simple SSL. Disable it or any security plugin and check if problem is fixed
I was struggling with a broken website. My solution was to revert Elementor to version 3.5.6 which can be done from TOOLS in Elementor left menu, that fixed any problem. Apparently version 3.6 incorporates too many changes that still cause many bugs.
