For a temporary solution until your update comes I have disabled admin mails by modifying code.

is to be replaced with
$email_admin = '';

I had the same inquiry. Please give a option that emails to admin can be disabled. As any company’s dev team need not receive all the emails that should be going to just sales department.
And please update the status of the issue to resolved only when it is done. You have just replied that you would be doing it in next release and made it resolved while the update hasn’t come yet.
Yes that fixed the problem. After posting my problem, I disabled and re-enabled it. And since then I am not getting mails of backup.
