Recovery mode usually means a plugin or theme fatally crashed. While you are in recovery mode, open Plugins and deactivate anything updated right before the error, then exit recovery mode and reload. If it trips again, switch temporarily to a default theme (Twenty Twenty-Four) to see whether the active theme is the culprit. Checking the fatal error email WordPress sent also names the exact file.
