The solution you have provided seems too difficult. When I was using the Enfold theme it had another field in those sections that you could use to point menus to. It was neat and easy so I think you should have the same feature.
The message box was from the contact form element and it is now resolved! I had made a mistake to choose a single line input. But I still haven’t got it working. Other contact us forms also don’t work for me. I’m using WP on Azure so that might be the reason.
