Blue host had been a reasonably good host. Its unfortunate to hear that you are having problems, but I know a couple of people who are using blue host for more than an year.
If you are not satisfied, its better to move to another host than waiting endlessly.
Reagrding the redirection, I think wordpress definitely receive a percentage. “If you do decide to go with one of the hosts below and click through from this page, some will donate a portion of your fee back”. They are open about it, atleast.
