Actually – I think I just figured it out reading through the code. Looks like it’s allowing the format of http://www.mysite.com/?feed=mynewfeed through.
I thought that using the slug would work (ie http://www.mysite.com/feed/mynewfeed)
Might be a helpful tidbit for someone else trying to get it to work! 🙂
