Giving this a bump as I’d like to know how this works too. In one particular case, I added two images to a post and it picked the second image as the post thumbnail.
No idea why or how this works – any insights would be appreciated! I’m having to hack the theme so I can use the featured image and hide it on the post. Not ideal really.
