In reply to: [Easy Bootstrap Shortcode] PHPSESSID CookieThanks for the reply. Not having a deep technical understanding of these issues I’m not sure I fully understand your explanation of the cookies purpose. Could you provide an explanation that an ordinary member of the public would understand – which I could then include in the Privacy Policy page explanation of the function of the cookies used by a website?
I’m sure the cookie isn’t harmful – but because is gets set when a website using the EBS plugin is first accessed, it would appear to contravene EU legislation on cookies. In the UK the Information Commissioner’s Office gives this guidance The observations on page 5 (“Prior Consent”) are particularly relevant. Page 12 provides guidance on exceptions to the need for prior consent. I’m no lawyer, but it may be hard to argue that the cookies provided by the EBS plugin could be deemed essential.
Is the use of cookies essential to all uses of the EBS plugin? Would it be possible to disable the setting of cookies by the administrator, or better still to link the use of the cookie to user acceptance of cookies, as with the EU Cookie Law (or other cookie) plugin?
This is a great plugin – and one I would like to continue to use. But it would be great to be able to use it without the legal uncertainty around its usage.

In reply to: [Easy Bootstrap Shortcode] PHPSESSID CookieHaving studied the matter in a bit more depth the EU directive is stricter than I previously thought. Website visitors need to give prior consent to the addition of any cookies, other than essential ones. It’s arguable, but it seems likely, given a strict interpretation of the law (I’m have no legal expertise), that the PHPSESSID cookie set by this plugin contravenes the law.
Would it be possible to have an option in the settings section preventing cookies being set? Or is it essential with all possible usages of the plugin?

In reply to: [Easy Bootstrap Shortcode] PHPSESSID CookieI would be very surprised if this cookie is anything but beneficial. However, the European Union Cookies Law makes it a legal obligation for websites in the EU to document the use and purpose of the cookies they use.
It would be very helpful if you could describe the purpose of this cookie in your plugin.

In reply to: [qTranslate X] qtranslate-x interfering with date formattingI’ve just resolved this. I just needed to tick the “Use emulated date function” box under Advanced Settings instead of the “Use strftime instead of date” box.
There may or may not be an issue with the settings changing when migrating from mqtranslate to qtranslate-x.

In reply to: [Seriously Simple Podcasting] Lamenting loss of keywords!Sorry I hadn’t noticed this earlier, but although the tag cloud is now showing up Ok in my sidebar widget, when I click on any of the tags none of the podcast episodes containing the tags show up: e.g http://www.podcastpeldroed.co.uk/tag/belgium/ shows nothing – even though two podcast episodes include the tag “belgium”.

In reply to: [Seriously Simple Podcasting] Language SettingsTo correct myself – the format suggested by iTunes (here: https://www.apple.com/uk/itunes/podcasts/specs.html) is en-gb, not en-GB, although I’m unsure whether the case makes any difference.

In reply to: [FA Lite - WP responsive slider plugin] Slide images only partly displayI’m sorry, but it’s only available by application. I was hoping that you could see what the issue was by looking at the http://www.amgylchedd.com/ website – where both plugins are enabled.
I have also contacted the author of the termau plugin – but haven’t had a response yet. There has been a problem with conflicts with the termau plugin in the past, which the author was able to resolve.
It it’s possible for you to give an indication of what the problem is I can see if this is an issue that can be addressed by the termau plugin author. Thanks for your time on this.

In reply to: [Seriously Simple Podcasting] Archives widgets don't show EpisodesYes, I am talking about the Archive widget built into WordPress, or modifications thereof. I may have misunderstood your intentions about this – but in any event it would be useful for visitors to have some way of quickly navigating to older, archived episodes via a sidebar widget. Perhaps soemthing for the future?

In reply to: [Seriously Simple Podcasting] Lamenting loss of keywords!Yes, post tags instead of keywords would be fine.

In reply to: [Seriously Simple Podcasting] Archives widgets don't show EpisodesAnother thing that I forgot to mention, the Archive widget still doesn’t show individual episodes. Was it your intention for the current release to address this issue? Or is this something you have in mind for a future release?

In reply to: [FA Lite - WP responsive slider plugin] Slide images only partly displayHi, thanks for looking into this for me – and the change you made has resolved the partial image display issue. Thanks.
The problem with the plugin conflict remains on one website: http://www.amgylchedd.com FA Lite 3 conflicts with the Termau plugin (if I deactivate the latter FA Lite works fine). The Termau plugin (a Welsh terms translation tool which appears above the footer widgets on every page) has been unchanged for a long time, and worked fine with earlier versions of FA Lite.

In reply to: [Seriously Simple Podcasting] Positioning audio player at post bottomI’ve managed to modify the content.php theme file (placing the modified file in my child folder) – and the episode meta details are now displaying fine in the blog. Just a one line change needed.

In reply to: [Seriously Simple Podcasting] Positioning audio player at post bottomThanks again for the prompt response and for looking into catering for episodes without an audio file saved. I’ll have a dig into the theme files to see if I can come up with an answer.

In reply to: [Seriously Simple Podcasting] Positioning audio player at post bottomWow, I’m impressed with your prompt response and action. Thanks for that, the update works really well.
As for the dates being displayed issue – I’ve created a normal “Test” post, and this displays the date on the blog page, unlike the podcast posts. The website, in development, is here: http://www.podcastpeldroed.co.uk I’m using the Sparkling theme.
Note the absence of the “Argentina Friendly” embedded podcast from the list of Recent Episodes, in the sidebar. This was created as an episode, but lacks an entry in the Audio file: field, because the embed code is located in the text entry field.
As you can see nothing displays under Archives in the sidebar. I guess this is because the episodes aren’t recognized as posts.
Hope I don’t seem too greedy here…
