I’m using MapPress and Post Grid plugins for the content within the tabs.
I’m using a custom theme that overrides the tabby.css styles.

Thanks for the response @kevinb — really appreciated. I was looking at your other plugin Revisionary but was a little wary since it no longer seems supported.
However I did end up using it with another plugin, User Role Editor, and was able to create a modified Contributor role.

I recently emailed them about specifying which calendar to display in the list as well but I haven’t heard back. It’d be great to also know how to limit the number displayed.
