Sub-Editor role?

    Hello!

    I’m trying to create a role that can STAGE edits but requires an Admin/Editor to publish the edits.

    So the role needs to be higher than a Contributor, because they need to be able to edit other’s and already published content, but there needs to be a checkpoint just before the changes get deployed.

    I started with the Capability Manager Enhanced plugin but couldn’t get what I needed, and now I’m looking at the Press Permit Core plugin but it’s a little confusing.

    Any help is appreciated, thanks!

    To accomplish this, you have to use a different plugin which substantially modifies the editing process to enable moderated editing of published content. One example is my Revisionary plugin. FYI, due to lack of an API, I do not support moderated revisioning of featured image, custom fields or plugin-defined metadata with any public plugin release.

    Thanks for the response @kevinb — really appreciated. I was looking at your other plugin Revisionary but was a little wary since it no longer seems supported.

    However I did end up using it with another plugin, User Role Editor, and was able to create a modified Contributor role.
