In reply to: No category option when writing postsI see. On the right where you have blank space…there should be different boxes…among them the category box.
Have you hacked something?…maybe some plugin?…if you try in another browser?

In reply to: No category option when writing postsPerheaps is just collapsed? Every box in post editor has a + or – sign on the top. Maybe this is the case?

In reply to: Squeezing Extra Info into My Travel Blog’s DesignHi! Nice itinerary 🙂
My two cents:
Comments link : It’s a bit an enigma to which post this link belongs. Put it above line separator…as this is somehow a delimiter between post blocks.
Post page: I miss more photos. I’d like to see where have you been…interesting places.
Right menu: Maybe a lack of separation between blocks. Visually it is just one tall column.
Have a nice trip and enjoy!

In reply to: tear this thing apart, its my first one…Warning: in_array(): Wrong datatype for second argument in /home/content/a/w/i/awintercoat/html/wp-content/plugins/BAStats/BAStats_logger.php on line 114
This error is on top of the page…and somehow breaks the header.

In reply to: New Blog – My First! Feedback WelcomeNice one.
Design note: Header is a bit unprofessional. Too much effects…tagline is hard to read.
Design note: Maybe a little more spacing between posts.

In reply to: Looking for opinions and especially criticismsFor the “wide width” I’ve meant that text block is maybe to wide for normal readability. Perhaps 200px less. I don’t know what can it be there in the gap. But take this one just as a personal choice…not an issue like bottom of the page.

For unique presentation you get 10 of 10!
For color scheme 4/10. Yellow links are so vivid that my young eyes can’t take it anymore.
Maybe the post page has a too wide width for readability.
At the bottom of page the links are lost with titles…it seems that all the bottom is just one big section and not “next/previous” “categories” “back to top” and “home”. Visually it is a mess and not user-friendly.Hope that this will help you somewhat.
Again…congrats for not so ordinary layout.

I’ve misunderstood you because I’m not a native-English speaker. But believe me on this one. If someone comes with IE6 on your site it will not think :”Oh god this site is ugly because I’m using IE6 or smthin.” He’ll just see an ugly page and simply leave it. It’s a fact. Because a tech-savy user is already using IE7 or FF or Opera etc.Forum: Fixing WordPress

I’m curious. What are the arguments against allowing me to specify that a link opens in a new window or tab (depending on your browser settings)?
It is up to me “a user” to decide if I want to open link in a new window or tab or open it simply over your site.
If your content is decent and I want to stay on your website I’ll open it in new window with SHIFT+CLICK or CTRL+CLICK. Otherwise I’ll click and go away from your site. Even if you force a link in new window I’ll close your window after.
As you can walk away from let’s say a shop whenever you want…even if they force u to exit through all shop…you’ll find your way out and go to another.
People always supose that their page is the one…but hey…one was searching something that you don’t have…why force someone that is not interested in you to stay on your site?
Let the power of choice to users…as it belongs to them.Forum: Fixing WordPress
In reply to: WordPress displaying incorrectly in Internet ExplorerAs there were a lot of same questions here is a hint:
It is recomended that before pasting the content in WP you paste it in notepad or some similar simple software and than paste it in WP. It’ll strip out a lot of garbage tags and formating from Word & co.
Than just finish formating it in WP editor.Forum: Your WordPress
