I resolved the issue by unchecking ‘The first row of your table is the table head’. After, I could control the text position and font style. Anyway, thanks for responding – I just need to understand more about the use of the table head/footer.

Thanks for your comment. For obvious reasons, is there a setting inside WordPress to switch off the visual editor?
