    Hi,

    1) My post is showing now and has the 4 pics across. It took about 10 hrs after I posted it for it to show in the reader, but I don’t mind as I would prefer that than it not showing at all.

    2) My images are in the image post I sent out to followers, possibly because I didn’t use the recipe shortcode and template.

    Cheers!

Hi Kokkie H and thanks again.

I just did a new post – Spicy Satay Pork. This is the url: http://sweetcaramelsunday.com/2018/03/11/spicy-satay-pork/

So I chose ‘standard’ for the template and I included both a feature image and 5 other photos all wider than your recommendation of 350px.

I can’t yet see it in the reader of my followed sites, but I don’t want to do what I did last time and repost it cause well, that’s just embarrassing when you see 2 of the exact same thing!! So, I am going to wait a little bit and see if it does come up (with all 4 photos across) and I do have my fingers crossed it will.

Do you know if there is a way to ‘clean up’ old not so user friendly posts. This is hard to explain without a screen shot but I posted a few blank posts when I thought I was still ‘under construction’ and yet, one of them ‘test post 5’ can be seen in the reader still. I have deleted this post from my blog, but I didn’t know if there was a way that I could delete it from the reader so my whole ‘blog image’ is nicer on there, ie looking like a pro and not an amateur!

I will continue to scour these forums as they have great advice and thanks again, as I really was tearing my hair out. I don’t know why one of my images from my previous posts, Satay mushroom doesn’t show in the reader, it has blank, then 3 pics, but I will keep trying to figure that one out.

I will post back here, if my latest post ever does show up in the reader.

    Cheers 🙂

Hello KokkieH and thank-you for your reply 🙂

I can see that now too.

So, I started my blog on a free wordpress site and when I would post I would get readers to visit my site as they would see my post in the reader feed so it was great as this made them click and read. (I think I used ‘gallery’) and had lots of pics so the preview in reader showed 4 photos.

Now that I am on a self hosted site and use Jetpack to connect to wordpress, I thought the same thing would happen but it hasn’t yet, ie there must be somethings I am missing.

On the wordpress.com site, the blog post would appear straight away in the reader and appear with 4 photos across.

On the wordpress.org site, the post didn’t appear for at least 1 hr, maybe 1 1/2 hours and only showed one photo (which was the feature I think).

I did some more research after I posted and another area said to disconnect Jetpack and reconnect it. So I tried that also. I still could not see the post which is why I then posted again as I really wanted those readers to come and visit my site.

So, where I am at now is trying to work out:

*What style eg ‘standard’, ‘gallery’, ‘video (obviously not)’, would show the 4 images in the wordpress preview, from my new site/theme.
*How to get the post to appear there straight away after I have posted like they used to.
*How to get the photos into the actual email that followers used to receive, as now they just get the text of the post with no pics
*And why it all of a sudden worked, like whether this was the connection to Jetpack or just that sometimes posts from wordpress.org will be delayed in showing up in the reader.
*I work full time and blog in my spare time so I will try again this weekend and see how I go, I just put so my time and effort into my posts that I was disappointed I wasn’t getting the same views yet as I feel that it is because I haven’t yet got wordpress reader figured with my new site – but I shall keep trying.

I hadn’t thought to clear the cache, cheers, I will try that next time.
