Forum: Fixing WordPress
In reply to: Images not uploadingSite: http://www.turningpointmagazine.com
I published a new post . I was unable to upload a new image for the post NOR insert an existing image into the thumbnail. (Was able to insert an existing image into the body of the blog). In an attempt to solve the problem, I copied the URLs generated when I upload images to my site. The big difference is that recent uploads DO NOT contain the year and month uploaded – but all prior ones do.
Examples – notice the year and date are present in all except the problem one:
THIS IS THE URL GENERATED DURING RECENT UPLOADS

In reply to: Images not uploadingMedia settings – they are being uploaded to wp-content/uploads folder – same as always. Once uploaded, the name of the image shows up and a URL is created that shows the location of the image in the folder. You suggested that I check the folder. My question again – how do I check the folder – I don’t see anywhere on the dashboard that allows me to actually open the folder.

In reply to: Images not uploadingIn reviewing our posting stream, I have not seen where you have posted a single link. You also are not addressing my questions or to the information I gave you in response to your instructions. And, I run my own site quite successfully. This is a technical issue, not an operational issue. The media uploader has been fine for 2 years – for 2 days there’s a problem. I simply need WordPress to fix the problem. It is not an FTP problem, its a WordPress problem. Perhaps it is frustrating to work with someone whose expertise does not approach yours, but didn’t you become a Forum Moderator to help people?

In reply to: Images not uploadingTheme Diva/Forum Moderator. I know many, many people in this space, like you, are REALLY tech savvy. However most of us are not at your level of expertise. Your repeated brief responses telling me “WHAT to do” but ignoring my requests for “HOW to do” might be expedient for you – but for us tech dummies – it doesn’t accomplish a damm thing!

In reply to: Images not uploadingIt is perfectly fine with me that QuickBen entered the conversation. I need a solution by any means necessary. I have just found that I also cannot insert IMAGES THAT ALREADY EXIST into my posts. What’s going on?
