In reply to: Errors with WP navigationSo you mean that there are no such errors? I don’t know what kind of solution is to disable the warnings, honestly.

In reply to: Help with translation of WPDo you think it’s safe to have two WP installations using the same server, but located in different directories and using different databases?
I’d have to backup, I suppose…

In reply to: Help with translation of WPThat’s correct. I mentioned the upgrade because at some point I thought that the upgrade might solve the issue. Of course, it didn’t. But I did not run upgrade.php, because it’s not required (upgrade between 151.2 and 151.3).
At some point I asked if running upgrade.php, even if not required, might do more good than harm. The answer was not clear enough, so I did not run upgrade.phpI have not contacted my new host, as I don’t know where to begin. Do you think that I can blame the server configuration, o the MySQL version (currently 4.0.24)?

In reply to: Syntax error when restoring databaseFirefox used ISO-8xxx-1
Changed to utf-8, and the “Ã ” still reads “‘?”, although this does not happen with new posts or comments. Only with old ones.Could that be caused by some minor difference between two character sets?

In reply to: Can I run upgrade.phpOk, so you think that if the problem with the translation (WP is in English after moving to new server) is not likely to be fixed running with upgrade.php
i just thought that it might help fix this. is it a bad idea?

In reply to: Syntax error when restoring databasePodz,
I used phpMyAdmin on Mozilla firefox (web version provided by host).
I did not try to paste each table separately. I uploaded the file instead.
Do you think that any of the above was the cause of the problem?
By the way, using Firefox the character “Ã ” shows as “?”. Not with explorer. Can anyone say what’s the reason for that?

In reply to: Can I do something like “republish” with WP?script to sanitize post contents. sounds good to me. anyone?
Forum: Installing WordPress
In reply to: Syntax error when restoring databaseA fairly knowledgeable person did that for me, and hopefully will explain to me how it was fixed. Except for a couple of outstanding issues.
MySQL version is 4.1.11 in the old server and 4.0.24 in the new one.
character set in the original was latin1_swedish_ci.
the new one apparently uses utf-8, MySQL 4.0.24 doesn’t seem to have the functionality to edit charsets.Forum: Installing WordPress
In reply to: WordPress not translated after server changeThe file I’m using is not one of those, but it’s one of the same kind.
I did not re-apply the translation. I assumed that copying the files and the databases nothing else was required. How do you do that?

In reply to: Syntax error when restoring databaseI removed that line and the result is that international characters are messed up. Alternative solution?

In reply to: WP not translated after changing serverI copied all files and did not edit confing.php, so I’d assume the answer to both questions is yes
