In reply to: [Firelight Lightbox] Border width and cyclic galleryThanks for the update and for letting me know. I updated it on both sites and with a couple of minor tweaks of the settings, they display as I intended. Looks good!

In reply to: [Firelight Lightbox] Border width and cyclic gallery@firelightwp, I am using fancyBox 2. Although the current plugin is an older version, I know that I settled on that setting to keep the images from enlarging. Here is another site that has the latest version of EFB and suffers from the same problem and using FancyBox V2:

In reply to: [Firelight Lightbox] Border width and cyclic galleryNot having heard from your support team, I downgraded the plugin to version 1.9.9 and it now works the way I want. I have a very narrow border and the scrolling from image to image stops at the last image. I will wait until you decide to fix the new version to go back to it.
Oh, I overlooked to update this forum, sorry about that. Yes, as soon as it became available, I upgraded the plugin on the test site and everything started standing full attention! All line up properly.
I am not sure if the NextGEN Plus is updated, it shows version 1.13.0. I borrowed a copy from a friend to test the problems.
Glad to hear. I will keep that test site going for the purposes of testing the new releases and provide feedback as I test them.
Happy holidays.
Additional piece of information for NGG developers.
On the staging site I have linked above, I wanted to experiment with the non-displaying Pro Mosaic and moved it and its title to the top most position. I changed the row height from what the default showed, from 150 to 140; and disabled lazy loading. After updating the post, I reviewed it and to my surprise the Pro Mosaic was displaying as the first gallery but the tiled galleries below broke. I moved it back down to the second position, and the Pro Tile before or after show fine but Pro Mosaic does not display again.
FYI
Another update:
If I comment out the line
define('NGG_INLINE_DYNAMIC_CSS', true);
in the wp-config.php file, I can edit the post.A different problem I encountered I would like to report. Still related to the NGG Plus. I wanted to edit the post on my staging site to see if there were ways to rehabilitate some of those gallery layouts. When I click on edit, I receive the following error on the screen. Please remember that this site has the suggested line added to the wp-config.php file as written above. My guess is that they are related.
RuntimeException thrown
…/test.testbed.biz/wp-content/plugins/nextgen-gallery/templates/photocrati-nextgen_pro_thumbnail_grid#nextgen_pro_thumbnail_grid_dyncss.php is not a valid MVC template
For your information
I added the line to the wp-config.php file but it made no change. What was broken is still broken, and what was missing is still missing.
I appreciate the efforts to fix it, but from a user’s end, the same thing breaking after the fixes following updates is maddening. I changed the settings on my live site once more and will not update NGG for quite some time.
I will be glad to try new versions, beta versions, and add-on lines on specific files to help out in getting all of us out of this mess. Let me know here or directly via e-mail and show me what to try on that site.
Good luck, to all of you and all of us.
On my live site, I have rolled NGG back to version 3.41 and disabled auto updates until further notice. The other staging test site still shows the broken and missing Plus galleries in case you look at the links. I will keep the test site auto updating and watch the results before updating other sites.
OK, the successive updates fixed the problem to 98% level. I still had to go back to settings and change a few of them to what they were supposed to be. Now, it is back to normal. On the virtual exhibit site, I disabled update from this point forward as I do not want to break it once more, who knows.
As a piece of information, I am adding another screen capture that shows how the settings came up and how I had to change them.
I made some progress but I am still not clear from the problem zone. This page has two galleries, I would like you to look at the second gallery:
https://www.keptlight.com/stepstone-falls-october-2023/
You will see the last row is centered. This is from the cached side content. The same page with my changes to the NGG settings as well as adding a couple of new CSS rules looks almost there but the same gallery has its last row not centered but floated left. I remember dealing with that some years ago, but cannot remember how. See the screen capture:
Thank you @imagely, but bringing them back will be a big problem for many. I restored my smaller virtual exhibit site but that did not fix the problem. I had to manually go change the settings, add custom CSS, and still could not get rid of the white border from all the images. In the end, I left the border as a compromise. My cached content on my main site is saving me for the time being. But, when I view the uncached content as admin, everything looks very strange with borders, margins, padding, added control for slideshow, etc.
For those who are suffering from the same problem, be prepared to spend a lot of hours fixing this because I could not even find my default thumbnail size listed.
Tsk, tsk!
I restored the site from a backup but the thumbnail sizes and styles are not reverting back. This is very frustrating on a live virtual exhibit! Why do you need to change my gallery display settings for an update?
On my main site I have hundreds of galleries with thousands of image and they are all “broken”.
