So I still have no luck with the linked file coming from the site. If I link to the file hosted on Dropbox it works.

I use a plugin called embed any document plus. I use this to display excel files for scores. I tried deactivating this but that did not help.

Using this plugin I uploaded the PDF I want to display and it too fails to work if the file is hosted on the site. What could be causing this? They are there but its as if WordPress cannot access them and therefore they don’t exist.

@kimwhite I originally uploaded using the add media button. I dropped my file and placed it. When it failed I noticed the upload folder was 2013/08 and I assumed that may have been the problem. Using FTP I also manually uploaded the file to 18/01. I later read that the upload folder is based on the original post date so 13/08 should not be a concern.

I then edited the file name to remove spaces for dashes.

I also tried the permissions on the file itself.

I feel quite confident that the file path is correct.
