In reply to: Unable to link header menu to pages – error messageSo I’ve sorted out the wierd 404 pages, but now the links in the top nav have gone back to showing a blank page with the grey lines and a ‘0’
Pre – click state URL: http://www.websitename.com/
Once clicked URL: http://www.websitename.com/design
Another thing to note is that once the top nav link has been clicked, and the blank page has loaded, the load circle in the flavicon area continuously circles…
Any help is much appreciated!

In reply to: Unable to link header menu to pages – error messageFab, thanks Skelch – have followed the permalinks guide and the suggested one has worked – page URLS are now matching the page title.
The only problem is now, all my links lead to a 404 page… at least something is showing rather than a grey page though!
Even if i go to pages > all pages > view (on a selected page) > 404 page appears… I thought maybe i’ve just messed up the permalinks for existing pages, so created a new test page but this also isnt showing in preview – very odd!

All the pages have been published (site is still in maintenance mode though).
All the pages I’ve built have different numbers at the end of the URL. An example permalink looks like this: http://www.websitename.com/?page_id=51
Another thing I’m keen to do is change said page URL to http://www.websitename.com/design but that’s something else I can’t seem to work out (like i said, total wordpress newbie!).
I don’t see any of the page designed – as soon as i click on the nav link, the URL at the top changes, and the template load icon starts, then a few milliseconds later a total white screen appears with some small grey lines and a ‘0’.
Happy for you to take a look at the site but as it’s in maintenance mode is there a way to PM you a dev log in?

I’ve just completely re-created the menu from scratch following the tutorial above and linking to existing pages on the site, but it’s still not working sadly.
When re-doing the header, I selected the pages I want to feature – they’re all saved and showing in the preview site in the header location. However, it’s when I click on one of them that something’s going wrong with the journey – as soon as I click on one of the header options, the load page starts but then directs to a blank white page, with the strange pale grey line and ‘0’ showing.
Im wondering it’s an issue with the menu or the pages…?
Any help would be much appreciated!
