Forum: Fixing WordPress
In reply to: Form Helpdid: contact godaddy, my hosting company due to the apache error I
was getting. Unfortunately, godaddy had set up the blog under the
domain name directing it to a different IP address than the domain.
The woman at godaddy had me erase the ip address the blog used to work
on and redirect it to the domain’s ip address.I saw: After this, I was no longer able to access a single page other
than the first page of the blog and the dashboard. I get a 404 error
on all the links and pages I click on. Also, I uploaded the latest
backup to the FTP client and still nothing.
Where do I put in the new IP address that will link the wordpress
content to the server at godaddy, or is that what I need to do?
Godaddy says it is a wordpress issue and there is nothing that they
can do to fix the problem. We’ve already tried renaming the htaccess
file and nothing improved. Please help! Months of work is gone and I
just know there has to be a way to restore the blog.I expected:
That the apache error 80 problem would be solved, not my entire blog
removed from the server and the files!Forum: Installing WordPress
In reply to: Server refuse connection on wp-adminHi,
I just read your posts and I am experiencing a similar issue, but I am not sure if it is the exact problem. I cannot access a single page with out safari dropping down a secure login box requiring me to enter my password and username (which is always rejected) every single time a new page is entered. It is so frustrating. I am running the 3.0 version and using linux. Godaddy is my hosting provider. I have tried everything I know to disable this security thing. However, if I click on cancel it allows me to enter the page, but my subscribers won’t know that. Any advice?
