Yes, you can restrict to only one image to be updated for a listing from Directory Settings >> Listing Settings >> Form Fields (“Max Image Limit” = 1).

We have added the option in email settings in the beta version, so please replace your current Directorist with this beta version to get the early access to the newly added option.

It is not possible for now, but we can give you a filter hook for that.
If I import all makes and models, the search list is going to be massive and very very lengthy
