I have imported my sql file into tools wordpress and importer and the old page dates are now there. The media reports failed to import but the photograph camera references are there and so I know which ones on my computer were used on the website. I have loaded Elegant themes Divi but cannot upload that backup for some reason. If I look at the divi backup files they seem to be all there XML File (.xml) 340Kb. Sample of the pages below:- In particular the first line says its a wp extended RSS file containing my web site but it does not mention how to restore it. Any help would be appreciated

a WordPress eXtended RSS file generated by WordPress as an export of your site. –>
<!– It contains information about your site’s posts, pages, comments, categories, and other content. –>
<!– You may use this file to transfer that content from one site to another. –>
<!– This file is not intended to serve as a complete backup of your site. –>

<!– To import this information into a WordPress site follow these steps: –>
<!– 1. Log in to that site as an administrator. –>
<!– 2. Go to Tools: Import in the WordPress admin panel. –>
<!– 3. Install the “WordPress” importer from the list. –>
    <!– 4. Activate & Run Importer. –>
<!– 5. Upload this file using the form provided on that page. –>
<!– 6. You will first be asked to map the authors in this export file to users –>
<!– on the site. For each author, you may choose to map to an –>
<!– existing user on the site or to create a new user. –>
<!– 7. WordPress will then import each of the posts, pages, comments, categories, etc. –>

Thanks for the reply Steve really appreciate your time. I am very worried about my problem as I spent many hours making my web site using elegant themes Divi and it seems to have disappeared from my hosting Company. My main worry is that I cannot remember how I set it all up a year ago it not something I have done before. I know that wordpress suggested to back up which I believe I did but cannot remember the file extensions so that I can search for them on my computer. I don’t know whether those backup file related to my divi web site so that I can re build it. I have at last heard from my Hosting Company after 4 days and they suggest adding alucastings.co.uk as an add on their C panel. I cannot get through to the idiots that they already get paid for hosting that site and have been for about a year. Don’t use Digitalcloud.com is the advice. This is what I have just written to them:-

Dear Sir, This is becoming extremely irritating. Your Company has been hosting my domain alucasting.co.uk for twelve months together with its Web site using wordpress and elegant themes Divi. Your Company has been paid monthly £17.94 GBP through Pay Pal for doing so. My web site has suddenly disappeared for no reason. I do not need to add another domain to your hosting service YOU ARE SUPPOSED TO BE ALREADY HOSTING alucasting.co.uk. You have taken nearly 4 days to reply to my request and no one from you ‘chat’ line answered last evening even after waiting for over one hour. Your service is extremely poor. Can you please find out why my website has disappeared off your hosting service. alucasting.co.uk used to show up on your C panel IT NO Longer does so , WHY !!

Thanks for the reply Tara, Cleared cache and cookies. Still getting HTTP 404 error.
I am using Digicloud.com for hosting and have had this reply from them regarding this issue. Doesn’t mean a lot to me however I will contact the Domain provider I used Instra Corporation Pty. Ltd.
Would appreciate any more help from you. Kind regards Tony

    Hello there,

Thank you. I could now see the domain name is properly registered.

You will now need to contact your Domain name registrar (where you got your domain name from ) and have them update the name servers information

    ns101.digitalcloud.com
    ns102.digitalcloud.com

Afterward, you will need to allow for some time for the DNS setting to be propagate.

The process of propagation involves waiting for the cached copies of the DNS resolutions at the local DNS server to expire. When you type in a domain name, it’s resolved to an IP address through the DNS system, then there is a computer in your area that keeps a cache of that address to IP resolution. It sends any requests for that domain name to that IP until the cache expires, then it will resolve the IP again and give you the updated one. The whole process could takes up to 48 hours in extreme case.

Afterward, your domain name will be displaying correctly with your WordPress Site

You can reply back into the ticket if you have any further question.

    Best regards,
