ERROR: Invalid username. This suggests my Password is correct.
This is doubly complicated. I had a WordPress Blog I titled “Illustrated Ideas” through my server just 2 weeks ago. Had it for months. Then I re-published my main web site at tracyfineart.com via Microsoft FrontPage and it published with no problem. But immediately all my sub-sites were simply gone! Including my WordPress Blog. No one knows how this could happen.
Finally I had my server start a new blog with WordPress 2 days ago. Again, all went well. I entered the information including a password and it doesn’t ask me to supply a username, only my email.
Now I’ve seen a page where WordPress asks for my email to login, but I don’t find that anymore.
See? Complicated. At least to me. Maybe I’m doing something that’s making the whole thing harder than it is.
There is sits in my FTP program as tracyfineart.com/blog with a ton of things in the wp-admin folder.
What do you think?

If you do click the link that’s what is there. Just a basic WordPress Theme.
My blog is hosted on my server. I’ll check my control panel there and see if there’s anything not done, or not ready yet and get back to you.

Actually, I’m viewing with Firefox. I haven’t looked at it in IE.
I’m happy you have kids. Our girls are all grown up now, ages 38 and 35. And both married for a long time. We know how it is. Our children must come before anything else. Our grandchildren are ages 15 and 12, and a new grandson born on Nov. 16 this year.

I’m not seeing my text color properly on my machine for some reason.
Looks slightly better on my wife’s machine.
If it looks OK to you, I’ll trust that.
If I would change my text it would be the text for posts and for the entire site. I would want the text color #FFFFCC if my background is showing my dark .jpg image Background.

Now, I’ve got an FTP deal with my server. Will see if something is set wrong there and correct it.

I just don’t see how. I’ve read my brains out on CSS, Style-sheets, Headers, file permissions and FTP but don’t see how I can do this right at the Presentation->Header Image and Color.
I feel as if I’m making this more difficult than it is.

In reply to: Help with Header and/or TitleOh! I’m not the one to give a proper answer. I found the problem you’re having easy to solve, but there must be something with yours that’s not as easy as I thought. I’m sorry. Who am I to give advise when I can’t figure my own problem out?!

In reply to: Help with Header and/or TitleBut on further thought, if I succeeded in getting my header and background integrated it wouldn’t work because my text is black and would be unreadable against that background. If it could be done I’d want the text color FF,FF,CC. That is not white, but just off white and close to some of the color in the font that’s in the header I’ve created.

In reply to: Help with Header and/or TitleI hear ya. I was using Moveable Type for 4 years. My host upgraded and I couldn’t get into my blog at all.
I found the answer to your question by accident. If you can get to your Dashboard, go to Options, then the General Tab. In there is where you can change your title.

I believe I have the correct size now for the Header.
Just as an aside, I think of it this way. Everyone has their interests and talents on the computer. I can create graphics, but can’t always get them where I want them. Those who know and love CSS and HTML could take what I do and know how to apply it. This latter is what I’m looking for. I simply can’t learn CSS. I’ve tried for two years and it seems that CSS just doesn’t work with images, although I know it does. I just can’t figure it out.
