• Hi there,

    Happy New Year!

I am currently writing a best of 2011/ones to watch for 2012 feature for my blog http://www.youknowthescore.net. For each film/album I am writing about I would like to include an image (say, the album cover), the text and then a video. The problem is, the Youtube video frame is wider than the picture and it looks messy. I tried using the embed shortcodes listed here but when I preview, the page simply displays the code.

I wish to set the width at 319px and, if possible, align to the center. This is the first video:

    Thanks in advance,

    Alex

  • The shortcode below should do what you want:

    Thanks Dkotter,

I copied the code you gave but unfortunately it still doesn’t work! I removed all possible additional formatting but it still simply displays the code. I also tried entering the code in a new post but again suffered the same problem

Is it possible that I may have somehow mistakenly prohibited shortcodes?

    Thanks for your support,

    Alex

Interesting. I just tried it on my site and it worked fine. I don’t think there is an option anywhere to enable or disable shortcodes, so my guess would be a conflict with a plugin or with your theme. You could always just use a plugin to embed YouTube videos. You can find quite a few here.
