    Hi Mark,

Video embeds require that you follow the rules outlined in the WordPress codex on them–and they only work for BD in the Long Description field when you have the shortcode expansion enabled. We cover this in detail here: http://businessdirectoryplugin.com/quick-start-guide/#video

Did you try that specific set of steps? Does that work?

I’ve found where to allow shortcodes and have tried just the youtube link which does render the embedded video in editor just like post/pages for WP, and have also tried the [embed] codex, but neither one shows on frontend

However, at least after saving, moving away then coming back to edit the directory listing the code for the youtube doesn’t ‘disappear’ now

    Hi Mark,

In addition to those–some themes require that you enable “the_content” filter to run on the description field (because of how the theme loop works) to see the videos. Try enabling that under Manage Form Fields for the Long Description. Does that help?

I was afraid to touch due to the ‘Advanced users only! Unless you’ve been told to change this, don’t switch it unless you know what you’re doing.’

If I put a checkmark in, what are the worst that can happen?

The only reason that warning exists is so it doesn’t get turned on without some thought put into it. Turning it on may affect other plugins on your site in a weird way, so if you start seeing odd display behavior, just shut it off again.

And if that’s the case, report back as we’ll have to go a different route.

That did the trick… and so far I have not seen any conflicts

On a quick note, in fees for a particular category, if 1 or 3, it appears to be centered align… where can I change to make it left aligned

    Hi Mark,

That’s best done with custom CSS. Here is an article about how to use custom CSS with Business Directory in a way that doesn’t get overwritten on upgrade of BD: http://businessdirectoryplugin.com/support-forum/faq/how-to-use-custom-styles-with-bd-2-1/

You’ll need to use Firebug to find the right elements and change their attributes to align them correctly.
