• Hello,

my client’s site has just switch to https (on WP Engine). I have just gone into the plugin settings to enable the SSL options (Front End SSL Mode and SSL for Dashboard) which I assume I should do now the site is on https?

However it still shows this warning below so I have not yet activated the feature in the plugin:

WARNING: Your server does appear to support SSL. Using these features without SSL support on your server or host will cause some or all of your site to become unavailable.

    Please could you advise?

    Thanks!

  • I’m getting this as well. Have just installed an SSL certificate, and when I visit the iThemes Security SSL option, I get the warning (in pink!):

"WARNING: Your server does appear to support SSL. Using these features without SSL support on your server or host will cause some or all of your site to become unavailable."

If it appears that my server DOES support SSL, then why am I getting a warning in pink? Perhaps there is a typo and it should read “Your server does NOT appear to support SSL”?

Otherwise I would expect a nice happy message in green: “Your server appears to support SSL”

Rather than risk it, I downloaded and installed “Easy HTTPS (SSL) Redirection” and selected “Enable automatic redirection to the “HTTPS”, and for “The whole domain”. It worked first time.

When re-entering the Admin panel for the first time, there was an odd message “This has been disabled”. All I had to do was log-in again, and all is happy.

sounds like a good idea. My site seems to redirect fine anyway. Was just concerned about the error message (I hadn’t noticed the typo!). Also wanted to know if it is an issue to not activate those options through the plugin.
