    Hello Shaylang,

I am sorry to learn that saving changes to SEO titles is not working. Do you mean that you are able to ave when you disable all other plugins except Yoast SEO? If yes, this means a plugin or your theme is conflicting.

The fastest way to rule out any conflict, is to deactivate all non-Yoast plugins and switch to a standard theme like Twenty Twenty.

Please test this on your development or staging site, if you have one. If not, we recommend using the Health Check & Troubleshooting plugin. This plugin has a troubleshooting mode, which does not affect normal visitors to your site.

If you’re unfamiliar with checking for conflicts, we’d like to point you to a step-by-step guide that will walk you through the process: How to check for plugin conflicts

If you feel uncomfortable doing this yourself or if this does not solve your issue, our Yoast SEO Premium plugin comes with one year of (technical) support.

The title of my page is able to be saved when I disable the Yoast plugin. The problem lies within activating the plugin.

My page title does not save or update when I have Yoast activated.

    @shaylang Thanks for your reply.

We understand that the title can be saved with the Yoast SEO plugin inactive. Can you please confirm whether the title can be saved with Yoast SEO active and a default theme such as TwentyTwenty?

@devnihil Nope. This is only happening on my homepage though. I am able to update metadata on every single page except the homepage.

    Hey @shaylang,

That’s odd. In your initial message, you mentioned that you used the troubleshooting mode to disable plugins, but did it activate a default theme while you were in it? I can only think of extra functionality in a theme or plugin that interferes specifically with the page set to be your homepage.

Are you running any caching plugins or server caching solutions or any must-use plugins?

    Thread Starter shaylang

    (@shaylang)

@jeroenrotty yes, it activated the one of the twenty twenty default themes that WordPress has. Even with switching themes, the Yoast plugin was still somehow not saving any metadata changes on our homepage.

We use Cloudflare for caching and are hosted by Kinsta.

Thanks for your reply. Due to the nature of the issue, we’d need to take a look at your setup to see what’s going on there. However, we are unable to do so here since this is a public forum. However, you may consider purchasing Yoast SEO Premium that will grant you access to our premium support where our support engineers can investigate the further for you and offer support through emails privately.

    Thanks for your understanding.

We are going ahead and marking this issue as resolved due to inactivity. If you require any further assistance please create a new issue.
